Review: Croc's Return by Eve Langlais

Coming home doesn’t always solve things … but it does pave the way for second chances.

Take one deadly bite and, bam, a man’s life is changed forever, or so Caleb discovers when a loss of control leads to him joining the military and leaving everything behind.

Time goes by … years spent silent and alone, cut off from those he loves. Until it’s time to come back, a scarred veteran, in many ways broken and looking for a meaning to his life. Perhaps it's not too late to right some wrongs. Make amends. Kiss a certain pair of sweet lips one more time.

If only Renny would damned well let him.

It doesn’t take Caleb long to realize Renny’s just the thing this croc needs to bring him back to life. Yet, what if he loses control again? He doesn’t want to take nibbling on her thighs to a whole new level.

Too bad, he can’t stay away, especially not when he discovers her secret. Add in a strange creature stalking the townsfolk and there is no way he’s leaving her alone.

Years ago it just about killed him to leave, but Caleb’s a changed man now. A darker kind of animal, and this retired soldier is ready to kill so he can stay.

Welcome to Bitten Point, where the swamp doesn't just keep its secrets, it sometimes eats them.

My Review:

It is no secret that Eve is one of my favorite authors and the fact that she has a hot new series was just what I needed to get my holiday going!  Meet one scarred and broken mess of a Croc named Caleb.  He just about ruined his life and alienated his family when he skipped town to join the military.  Now hes back and a little desperate to make amends...well as desperate as a split man can be.  It seems that Caleb and croc are two very different personalities, who as would have don't really like or trust one another.  Battling life and its challenges is one thing, having to fight your inner animal on the daily is quite another.  This continuous conflict within himself makes Caleb quite an interesting (and Sexy) character.

Renny on the other hand I found to be a very relate-able character.  After trying to reach Caleb and receiving no response she had no choice but to give up on him.  She was working two jobs just to make ends meat and not getting to much time with her son.  I feel her pain. The thing I loved most about Renny was her strength and fortitude.  She isn't someone you would want to tangle with!

When these two re-connect there is sparks shooting off in all angles.....even though a lot of its anger...lol.  This was a unique read from Eve because it wasn't chalked full of humor and tended to be more serious.  But the sex is still hot and off the chain!!!  It was still an exquisite read and I can't wait to snuggle up and have a re-read!!!
